Meal delivery services

If you have difficulty remembering mealtimes, or to get to the shops, there are several services to help you. These operate meals on wheels services which would ensure meals are provided to you one to four times a week. Menus are varied and can accommodate special dietary requirements. Meals on Wheels Australia supports the health and wellbeing of older Australians by providing delicious and nutritious meals, delivered to your door, by friendly volunteers. The meals are prepared to National Meal Guidelines, specifically designed to meet the daily nutritional needs of older Australians.

Meals on Wheels is made up of a community of more than 590 grassroots services across the country. To find a local service in your area, visit https://mealsonwheels.org.au/get-support/find-your-local-service/. The Government has worked with a number of grocery suppliers, including Coles and Woolworths, on priority access to their online and telephone shopping service for older and vulnerable people.

If you are registered with My Aged Care, you can provide your My Aged Care ID number either through the online form or over the phone to access priority delivery. If you are 65 or over, you can register with My Aged Care by calling us on 1800 200 422 (freecall) and answering some simple questions over the phone. If you’re not able to shop online or by phone, My Aged Care can refer you to a local aged care provider to get help with shopping or meals. Services can be set up quickly for up to six weeks without the need for an assessment.
